“Difícil olvidar la infinita tristeza que hemos vivido, que nos ayude la alegría de poder dedicarnos a esta profesión. Gracias a todos”
Sonia has a bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery, studied in Complutense University of Madrid, and then specialized in Intensive Care at the San Carlos University Hospital, her professional life has been dedicated to the care of the critically ill.
Curra’s testimony: “The incredible thing about Sonia is her ability to keep up the spirits of all those around her, even in the worst conditions, even in the midst of the chaos caused by an unknown virus, in the midst of fear, desolation, sadness and death, she appeared as an angel, an angel for the patients, an angel for her companions, an angel for her colleagues, I could say that even her sadness, difficult to hide at times, had a certain healing power for those of us who felt it, for it was a deeply sincere, deeply human sadness, so, just imagine her smile, practically constant on her face even in the worst moments. Sonia has the incredible capacity to transmit pain with her gaze but at the same time she smiles at you and says with total conviction the magic words “cheer up, I have hope that everything is going to be alright” and at that moment, with that woman by your side you have the powerful feeling that although you are not invincible, you know that there is still much you can do for your patients. If Sonia had been born in another era, she would have been a warrior willing to give her life for her principles.
Thank you, Sonia, for your strength, your faith in life and your smile.
